Writing

Today we were learning how to entertain our audience by taking one moment and blowing it up with heaps of details.  At first this was kinda of tricky, but once we got the hang it we were awesome!  Check out these examples.

Oh Stink!  I didn’t get anything for Christmas except for a stuffed toy and a Christmas tree.  It’s because I got heaps of stuff for my birthday.  My mum said “Go to the backyard.”  So, I raced to the backyard.  My heart was beating really fast and my friends were there.  It was the best day ever.

Boom!  As I saw a huge present wrapped in a pink and black bag.  So, I unwrapped it at least.  “God this is hard to unwrap Mum!”  There was the hardest knot that I just can’t undo.   So I just ripped it open.

Heart beating so fast and breathing so weird.  Holding the brush and slowly painting one nail.  So scared I’m going to get it all over me.  Looking over at Kayla’s nails I said to her “I love your nails.”  She said “No, I like yours.”

As I went to grab a bat and a helmet I had just noticed that I was the last batter.  Suddenly, my legs were shaking and my pulse was smashing against my chest.  Then I heard my team screaming out, “Go Hyrum, go!!”  All my confidence came to me.

I rush to the Christmas tree, following Santa’s tracks of snow.  Umping with joy I look for my presents among the others, while looking around for my mum and dad.  Nope, not there.  I continue to open the presents.  Suddenly, a door opened.  It was my brother going to the loo.  When he went back to bed I went back to opening my presents.  “Wahoo… Oh Man!”  It was only a pair of shorts and a T-shirts!
